Artist Ken Rinaldo builds complex organic/robotic systems integrating natural elements with technological elements in the pursuit of symbiosis. The result? Robots controlled by fish!
Using laser beams to allow living fish in a tank to steer microprocessor controlled robotic structures, Rinaldo frees the fish from the confines of a static tank. He effectively gives the fish breathing apparatus for the exploration of non-water filled space.
Well documented artworks exploring “living systems, artificial life, interspecies communication and the underlying pattern and beauty inherent in the nature and organization of matter, energy, and information”
